After you select or adjust your plans and features, you will have a chance to review your bill before you pay for it. To provide a simple bill, we consolidate all applicable taxes and government surcharges into one line item above the display of the total price. Taxes and government surcharges vary by state and local jurisdiction, and the total is calculated automatically by the compliance solutions plug-in based on the service address you provided. Various government entities require that we collect these taxes and government surcharges, then remit the required amounts to the government entities. We have not adopted the common industry practice of charging you additional fees not mandated by governments. Our prices for services and the amounts we collect as required by governments are transparent.

 

Below is a list of common taxes and government surcharges:

 

1. Federal Universal Service Fund (FUSF) Fee: This fee, required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), supports universal service programs to enhance access to advanced telecommunications services in rural and high-cost areas, provide low-income assistance, and offer services to schools, libraries, and rural healthcare providers. The Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) establishes a quarterly contribution factor, and MobileX charges its customers the then-applicable rate set by USAC.

2. State Universal Service Fund (USF) Fee: Like the Federal Universal Service Fund (FUSF) Fee, this charge supports universal programs at the state level.

3. 911 Fees: 911 fees are imposed by state or local governments to support emergency services, such as police, fire, and medical response. Each state, city, municipality, or county has specific charges, and a ZIP code is required to determine the applicable 911 charges.

4. State and Local Taxes: These taxes vary depending on the state and local jurisdiction and may include sales tax, gross receipts tax, utility tax, or other telecommunications-specific taxes.

5. Sales Tax: Applied to the purchase of SIM kits, devices, or accessories.

How to find your SIM number on my iPhone

Your SIM number is your phone’s unique serial number and usually consists of 19-20 characters.
To find on an iOS devices (iPhones, etc):
  1. Check your device settings
  • Go to Settings > General > About
  • Scroll down to locate the ICCID (SIM Card) number
  • To copy, tap and hold the ICCID number until Copy is displayed. Tap Copy.

  • Pop your device’s SIM tray open. Find the SIM Card number printed on the card
 

Can I add more data during a monthly service period?

Yes, you can add extra data before your next renewal period. If your data is running low or you know you’re going to need more, you can simply add more without running out while on the go. We have three options to add data listed below.

  1. Open MobileX app
  2. Click on the wheel
  3. The one-time data purchase screen will be displayed
  4. Select the amount of data you want
  5.  Press Confirm and pay button
  6. Data has been added to your service

How Do I Port My Optimum Mobile Phone Number to MobileX

  • Every carrier has a particular method to port out your number. But, each porting process starts out identically:
  • First, you need the number you are porting still active with the carrier. If you are taking advantage of a trade-in promo, the request needs to be made prior to trading in.
  • You need to use the carrier-supported method to obtain a Number Transfer PIN
To obtain the Number Transfer PIN Optimum offers one method: Call them at 833.449.8586, they will email you a new PIN.

How do I identify my iPhone model?

There are countless numbers of iPhone models on the market these days, we can’t seem to keep track of which one we have anymore. If you have the same problem, it’s super easy to find your device’s model within the MobileX app.

  1. Open Settings

  4. Next to the Model Name you will see the specific model of that iPhone

How to view data usage

Viewing your data usage is easy to do with the MobileX app
On the home screen, you will see our “Data Wheel” which shows you in real-time how much data you have left in your cycle. The wheel will change colors starting as green when full and turning slowly to red as you get close to running out.
 
Use Trend
The use trend shows your data usage from previous days so you can get a better idea of your total usage. To access, it just swipe to the right of the data wheel.

How to add to my Wish list and how to check my Wish list

In our Xchange Marketplace, you have the ability to love (heart) an item and save it to your Wish list.
 Steps to add an item to your Wish list:
  1. Open MobileX App
  2. Tap on Main Menu icon

3. Check out the merch, and if you love something:

How to unlock your AT&T phone?

You need an unlocked phone to use our MobileX. To ensure your AT&T phone is unlocked you need to meet these three requirements:
  1. Own an AT&T locked phone
  2. The phone is a personal line
  3. The phone is being paid off
Once this is done, you can go to their website and request an unlock.

Is MobileX a prepaid service?

Yes, technically you pay for all MobileX services in advance, although it can occur at different time periods. MobileX offers several types of plan offerings. To successfully activate the service, payment will be required.

How do I unlock my T-Mobile phone?

You need an unlocked phone to use MobileX. To ensure your T-Mobile phone is unlocked you need to meet these three requirements:
  1. Have a T-Mobile locked phone
  2. You either own the line/service or the account owner has authorized you to use the phone
  3. The phone is paid off
T-Mobile usually sends a text message informing you the device has been unlocked. You will either need to follow the steps on the page below or turn your phone off and on.

How to Set Up Biometrics to Log into MobileX app?

The MobileX app allows you to use your fingerprint or faceID to log in. This feature was designed to make your experience with us as simple and stress-free as possible, which means not having to type in a password every time.
Steps to activate biometric login:
  1. Log into your MobileX app
2. Tap on Main Menu icon
3. Tap on App settings
4. Tap Biometric
5. Sign-in to turn on biometric (Click the circle on switch. The circle will turn black and move to the right side when On)
6. Tap Done
Known Issue:  
You may have turned on biometrics in the MobileX app despite not having biometric authentication enabled on your iPhone. Doing so results in you being logged out of the MobileX app every time you force close it. For this feature to work properly, you need to have biometrics set up on your device (meaning have your fingerprint/ Face ID saved on that device).
Doing the following steps will give you the intended functionality, i.e., fingerprint or face ID biometric sign-in.  
To properly set up the phone to allow for biometric authentication do the following steps:
  1. Disable biometric on the app (press button off) 
    1. Force close the app or log out and back in 
  2. Go into settings and set up biometrics on your device (link article to be written) 
  3. Go back into MobileX app  
  4. Turn biometric back on 
 

How do I change my iPhone’s Display & Brightness?

You can manually change your iPhone’s appearance, from brightness levels, display modes, font size and much more.

How and when to use Airplane Mode on my iPhone?

When airplane mode is activated it disables all signals and Wi-Fi to your phone, while still allowing other features to work.   6. Check through your purchase summary page, and then press the Confirm and Pay buttons
  7. Congratulations, data has been added to your service. You can now binge-watch that new Netflix show!
 

How Do I Port My Net10 Phone Number to MobileX

  • Every carrier has a particular method to port out your number. But, each porting process starts out identically:
  • Firstly, you need the number you are porting still active with the carrier. If you are taking advantage of a trade-in promo, the request needs to be made prior to trading in.
  • You need to use the carrier-supported method to obtain a Number Transfer PIN
With Net10 your Account number is your MEID or IMEI serial number. For information look at the “How to Find my IMEI” article in device support. Net 10 doesn’t have a Number Transfer PIN, for MobileX use “0000”

How to activate Wi-Fi Calling on my iPhone?

Wi-Fi calling gives you the ability to make and/or receive domestic and international calls over a Wi-Fi network instead of using your cellular coverage.
iPhone Steps:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap on Cellular (If this is not in Cellular, it will be in Phone)
  3. Tap Wi-Fi Calling
  4. Turn on Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone (Turns green when On)
  5. A pop-up notification will be displayed on the screen. Press enable.
  6. Important Information page will follow. Read and agree before clicking. Continue to activate Wi-Fi calling
Important – Emergency 911 Address Required: To successfully turn on Wi-Fi Calling, you must enter a U.S. address where all emergency services will be sent to. It is very important to remember to update your address if changed since this is the address for the emergency agency. Your 911 call will only use Wi-Fi if your cellular network is unavailable at that time.

How to find out if my iPhone is unlocked?

Your phone must be unlocked to activate the MobileX service. To find out whether your phone is locked or unlocked, use any of the following:
  1. Contact your current carrier and ask them to verify your phone’s lock status

What happens after my use period ends?

Once you have used the MobileX service for the initial use period, you will officially enter your access period. In this period, your service and access won’t change. Your price and data amount will also remain the same. The only time any of this changes is if you decide to manually adjust what you want. It’s all up to you! 

How to set up “Hey Siri” on my iPhone?

iPhone steps:
  1. Launch the Settings app
  2. Scroll down to Siri & Search
  3. Tap the toggle switch next to Listen for “Hey Siri” (turns green when On)
  4. Tap Enable Siri
  5. Set up “Hey Siri” page is displayed. Tap Continue
  6. You will be asked to speak into iPhone starting with “Hey Siri”
  7. “Hey Siri” ready page is displayed. Tap Done

How does Video Optimizer work for MobileX?

If you want more control over your data consumption while on our personalized access plan and to improve your overall video streaming experience you can manage the quality of your display with Video Optimizer.
Basically, you can lower the quality of your videos if you want your data to last longer or you can crank up your data usage to watch your favorite show in a higher definition. It’s all up to you! Within the app, there are four different low to best-quality options to choose from. Each quality selection will explain the change it makes to your data usage.
MobileX app steps:
  1. Open MobileX app
  2. Click on Video Optimizer (located on the homepage under the data wheel)
  3. You will now have the option to select from four different quality levels. Press on the circle on the right-hand side of the screen to select the quality level you want.
  4. Click Confirm
Note: for the video optimizer quality to take effect, you have to toggle Airplane mode On/Off to obtain your new video experience.
iPhone’s Airplane Mode Activation:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap the toggle switch next to Airplane Mode. This turns green when On.
(Another way to turn Airplane mode On: unlock your iPhone and simply swipe down on the top right-hand side of your screen to open the control center. Press the airplane image in which turns to orange to indicate it’s On)
Samsung/Pixel steps:
  1. Pull down the notification menu and then again to open your quick controls.
  2. Tap on Airplane Mode to activate
  3. Wait until you see no service and then turn off Airplane Mode

How Do I Port My Xfinity Mobile Phone Number to MobileX

The account number for Xfinity Mobile is not the same as your 16-digit account number for your home services with Comcast/Xfinity. To get your mobile account number you will want to do the following:

3. Your account number will be at the top below the Account Holder’s name.
Getting your Number Transfer PIN
  • To generate a number transfer PIN with Xfinity you have two options:
    Option 1:
    1. Go to Xfinity Mobile on a computer
    2. In the upper right you should see your name. If signed in hover over it and click on My Account from the dropdown
    3. Go to the Devices section on your account
    4. Click the line you would like to port out
    5. Click Learn More to Transfer your number. Cancel this line
    6. Select the number for a transfer pin to be sent to you via SMS.
    Please note you can use this transfer pin for all the other lines on the account and this process doesn’t need to be repeated.
Option 2: Call Xfinity Mobile and have them send you the transfer pin via SMS

How to unlock your Verizon phone

You need an unlocked phone to use MobileX. The requirements to unlock your Verizon line are simple: 60 days in service. As an added benefit of moving your Verizon phone over to MobileX you’ll have network comparability with all the bands we use.
You will be expected to continue paying off the phone after the 60-day period. If you leave Verizon the total remaining balance is due.

What’s the difference between a locked and unlocked device?

A device is considered “locked” when it’s limited to operating on a specific carrier’s network, preventing its use on any other service. If your device is locked, you will  be unable to activate your MobileX service with it.

 

A device not tied to any carrier service is considered “unlocked”, allowing you to use it with any US network, including MobileX.

Can I activate multiple devices on my MobileX account?

Only one device can be activated to your MobileX account at a time. However, if you want to switch your service to another device you can  move the SIM into your new device. Just remember, this will cause you to lose connection on your original device until you move the SIM back into it.  

Why is my data running slow?

There are a few reasons why your connection is slower than usual:
  • You could be in a location where your phone is having a hard time picking up the connection or is congested. An example would be a large gathering where there are a lot of people on the network.
  • Your current location. Since your phone is picking up radio waves, something around you may be causing interference for a number of reasons.
  • The tower you’re connected to is undergoing maintenance.
  • The tower you’re connected to is not the closest tower to you.
Possible fixes include:
  • If you think you might not be connected to the closest tower, try to resolve this by toggling your airplane mode. Further information can be found here: [link]
  • If Wi-Fi is an option and you really need to connect, try using that rather than the mobile network
  • Network slowdown may happen at some point, and we would like to thank you for your patience during the periods of slowdown.

Using Airplane Mode on my device if you’re using Android

Activating Airplane Mode disables all network signals and Wi-Fi to your device while still allowing your other features to continue to work.
Sometimes after applying changes to your device’s settings, or updating account details, toggling Airplane Mode helps activate those edits. Airplane Mode can also be effective in saving your battery life, decreasing the time it takes to charge your battery, or keeping your roaming charges down. And let’s face it—who doesn’t love to save a buck or two?  
Accessing Airplane Mode:  
  1. Pull down the Quick Controls from the top of the screen.

Samsung devices: 
  1. Open Settings. 
  2. Tap General Management.

Google Pixel devices: 
  1. Open Settings. 
  2. Tap System. 
  3. Select Reset options.

How to swap a SIM card?

Steps:
  1. Power off your phone
  2. Locate SIM Tray (Found on the edge of your phone)
  3. Pop-out SIM tray (Insert SIM tool or paper clip into the small hole on the SIM tray. Gently push to pop the tray out)
  4. Replace old SIM with new SIM
  5. Re-insert the SIM tray into the phone
  6. Turn the phone back on
NOTE:
iPhone 14 series (US models) do not have SIM cards or a SIM card slot.

iPhone steps:
  1. Open Settings
  2. Select General

What happens to my unused data after the billing cycle?

What happens with your data is based on how you set up your service. We have Customized Access, Artificial Intelligence Driven Plans, and Basic Unlimited Plans.
Custom Access Plans:
All the data you pay for is yours! Any data you don’t use gets counted as a credit on your next bill. So if you find yourself not using as much data as predicted you will pay less next month. The data will be calculated and then applied as a credit to your next service period.
Basic Unlimited Plans:
All data purchased the previous month is discarded and you restart the next period with a fresh batch of data based on how much you have subscribed for.

How Do I Port My AT&T (prepaid) Phone Number to MobileX

  • Every carrier has a particular method to port out your number. But, each porting process starts out identically:
  • Firstly, you need the number you are porting still active with the carrier. If you are taking advantage of a trade-in promo, the request needs to be made prior to trading in.
  • You need to use the carrier supported method to obtain a Number Transfer PIN
For AT&T prepaid your Number Transfer PIN is your account pin. This is the PIN you use to sign into your account and add more usage.
To obtain your account number, you will need to dial 611 and ask the representative to provide it.

How Do I Port My AT&T Phone Number to MobileX

Every carrier has a particular method to port out your number. But, each porting process starts out identically:
  • You need the number you are porting still active with the carrier
  • If you are taking advantage of a trade-in promo, the request needs to be made prior to trading in.
  • You need to use the carrier-supported method to obtain a Number Transfer PIN
  • All port-ins require the obtained PIN and your current account number
AT&T: With ATT there are three methods of obtaining the Number Transfer PIN
  1. Call *7678 (*PORT)
    1. This will give you a voice prompt dialog flow to get your Number Transfer PIN.
    2. Requires your account passcode to generate the PORT
  2. On the myAT&T app
    1. Log into the app
    2. Go into the profile page in the app and tap People & Permissions.
    3. Scroll down to Transfer phone number then select Request a New Pin
  3. Using the AT&T Website
    1. On the web page menu find People & Permissions.
    2. Select Wireless
    3. Select Transfer phone number and Request a new PIN
 
 

Why is my Wi-Fi not working?

There are a few reasons that can cause your Wi-Fi connection to not work. Luckily, many of these issues can be fixed easily and quickly in just a few steps.
A few options to help fix internet connection:
  1. Make sure your router is turned on and that you are within its range
  2. Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned On in your phone’s settings
  3. Be sure you have selected the correct router
  4. Reset network settings (This will not erase any personal information other than saved Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth connections). Then try to reconnect to the W-Fi once completed
  5. If your phone is still not connecting, try powering it off.
  6. Lastly, you can reset your network settings (instructions for this are listed under “How Do I Reset my Network Settings”)

How to request a port out pin

A port out pin or transfer pin provides an added layer of security to verify you. This is a randomly generated 6-digit number that lasts for 72 hours. You will provide this number to the carrier you are bringing your number to.
To have a port out pin generated you will need to submit a ticket to Xpert Care at this time.

Connecting to a Hotspot on your phone if you’re using Android

Connecting to a Hotspot allows you access to the internet by using another device’s internet connectivity when you are unable or unwilling to use an alternate type of connection or your own mobile data. 
Samsung devices: 
  1. Open Settings. 
  2. Select Connections. 
  3. Tap Wi-Fi. 
  4. Select the network and join. 
Google Pixel devices:

Changing my phone’s display and brightness if you’re using Android

It’s pretty easy to manually change your phone’s appearance, from brightness levels, display modes, font size and much more.
  1. Open Settings. 
  2. Tap Display. 
  3. You’ll find many options to adjust your device’s display settings in this panel. Try a few adjustments and see how you go! 
 
 

How do I connect to a Hotspot on my iPhone?

Connecting to a Hotspot allows you to access the internet using another device’s internet connectivity when you are unable to use your nearby Wi-Fi connection.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click on Wi-Fi
  3. Select the device name under the personal Hotspot you want to connect to
  4. Enter your passcode, if needed
  5. A blue check mark will appear next to the devices name once successfully connected
